This complex-looking pattern is deceptively simply. It makes use of basic knitting stitches, edged with freeform crochet. Pattern includes instructions for freeform and a more traditional / symmetrical edging.  It is completed with two small/medium buttons that can be pushed through the fabric at various points, singly or doubly, to alter the look.
